Michael J. Butkus & Company is a Registered Investment Advisor formed in 1997. The company is owned by Mike Butkus, who has worked continuously in the investment business since 1983. Mike is a lifelong resident of the Omaha area, having graduated from Creighton Prep High School in 1974 and Creighton University with both a B.A. in Philosophy in 1979 and a Law Degree (J.D.) in 1983.
Michael J. Butkus & Company does business only as a discretionary/fee advisor. Discretionary account holders sign a contract stipulating the agreed upon annual fee which also authorizes Michael J. Butkus & Company to manage the client’s account, using specific client guidelines, but without investment-by-investment input from the account owner. Clients are charged fees quarterly --- instead of brokerage commissions --- for this management.
